About Me

I am what I love to do -- reading the drift of the market place, giving brands life, writing narratives, creating multi-media, learning all about the people I know and love, hitting a great backhand volley at the net -- squish all of these actions together and that is pretty much who I am.

Demographic Affiliation Eye Opener

Posted by Emily on Jan 14, 2008 at 1:28 PM
Selecting my demographic affiliations this mornings was a bit of an eye opener. I move through the day somewhat unconscious about whom I hang with and relate to and why.  The exercise revealed to me that I have friends in their 20's and friends in their 80's.  I'm gay but the majority of my friends are straight.  There wasn't a single "demo" that held the lure for me.  Then I realized I had generated my own personal demographic group with whom I am affiliated with....  actually three.  Playfulness. Life long learners. Communicators. Playfulness in body and soul.  Curious and adventurous in learning about new things.  And they all love to talk about it, particularly over a good meal or a cup of coffee.

A Little Personal

My Motto
Make it easy on yourself. Be authentic and move with integrity. Life can really hum along when those are the values running your engine. Particularly when things get tough and rough.
My Biggest Accomplishment
So many, so many. Enjoying a committed relationship for 24 years. Finishing a play that had been sitting in me for nine years. Moving people with all kinds of narratives. Every day and every breath I take is big in my book.
My Hot Buttons
People who throw trash on the street. I can barely type this sentence without getting mad.
My Heroes
John Irving, Julie Taymor, Alice Neel
My Interests
  • I live to
    - laugh and play
    - talk with people. It is how I travel.
  • I love
    - light... lots of it; windows, lamps, spotlights, moonlight and of course self-illumination
    - gliding through water and hitting a serve exactly where I want it.
  • I wish
    - people did not fear but loved and honored the differences in each other.
