This is a really good assessment and of course the real issue here is class. The Dems have the same class divide as the republicans. The challenge is that Dems are also split on race and gender. The repubilcans are split on relegion. Class may be the hidden issue in this election.

Well, the truth is that Bill Clinton was beer kinda guy - beer & donuts - who was well loved for being down to earth and understanding the struggles of blue collar life. Probably Hilary Clinton is getting some benefit from that association. 

Mmmm... beer.

I would support either of them, but I think the basic theory is right. Or he is Starbucks and she is Dunkin Donuts. He appeals to highbrow types, she is liked well by lowbrow types. Perhaps even those who drink Lowenbrau, although that comes from Germany so maybe not.
